Acne Treatments That Work - Which Ones?

There is a world of acne treatments available today claiming to get rid of acne. Some of  them help, or they make the acne worse than it was before. If you want to be acne free, then you need to do your homework on the acne treatments that claim to help rid acne from your face.

It is nearly impossible to find a treatment that can do everything needed to prevent acne. One of three things are often accomplished by most good treatments to rid your face of acne. So, a combination of different treatments might be necessary to be acne free.

A combination should include unclogging pores, slowing down the excretion of sebum, and killing off p.-acne. You need to choose what products or treatment will be right for your skin, as all skin is different.  Some of the treatments may only last a short while and some of the  treatments may make your face break out more before improvement sets in.

If you have dry or oily skin, then choosing a treatment may depend on which you have to see how it will react when applied to your face. If your skin is already dry, for instance, then you will want to avoid treatments that might dry it out. It could cause your acne to get worse. The majority of acne treatments are for oily skin types. If you have oily skin, you’ll want to find a treatment that absorbs the excess oil from your skin. It should contain something to kill bacteria and slow down the production of bacteria.

There are some treatments available for those trying to rid acne that can be purchased over the counter. Benzoyl Peroxide is a good treatment that can be applied to the patches of acne. It is a drying agent, so you will want to put it directly on the pimples and not all over the face. If used too much, it can make things worse by no longer working and causing more breakouts.

Salicylic Acid is another treatment that is good for cleansing pores. However, it doesn’t work for all skin types. It will assist the oils in flowing freely through the pores instead of clogging up and causing acne.

When it comes to acne, there is no absolute cure. When searching for a way to become acne free, be sure to find the combination of products that work for your skin.
