Some of us never stop to think about it, but the human body really is amazing and usually lasts for 70 or 80 years without too many problems. But within that time there are a few points where our bodies can give us some stubborn problems.

For the lucky ones, the problem is going to be something minor like a breakout on the skin. Even though this is a minor problem compared to some of the things that can happen, people with skin problems such as acne don’t really feel that this is a mild issue. For those suffering with acne, it can be very stressful and cause a great deal of embarrassment.

Everyone with acne knows that it can be helped through a proper diet, sufficient exercise and plenty of rest. However, in order to totally beat acne, some other areas may also need to be addressed. For those whose acne gets worse in stressful situations, a way to reduce the stress must be found if there is any hope of completely controlling it.

There are many ways for an individual to gain control over their stress levels, although this can be difficult if your daily life puts you into circumstances that are stress filled. The first thing you must realize is that you are going to have to put daily effort and determination into making this change in your life to have any hope of succeeding.

In the same way that many people have learned to control their food intake and have made regular exercise a part of their day, acne sufferers should set aside time for meditation and tension relieving exercises. In order for these techniques to work they must be given the time they require each day, otherwise acne may never be controlled completely.

In addition to using meditation and tension relieving exercises, like yoga, you can also decide that you will respond to stressful situations differently. Stress usually occurs when a person is put into a situation where they are held responsible for something they really have no control over.

If this happens to you, the first thing to realize is that the only thing you really have control over is your response to the situation. If your current response does not help the situation and only makes your stress level go up, you are probably just making your acne worse. Since there is nothing to be gained by increasing your stress in these situations, why not change your reaction to one that actually reduces stress?

The next time a stressful situation comes up think this thought: “This is where I am supposed to get stressed, but I know that does no good so instead I’m going to become more calm!” Stressful situations require a clear head and this really is the best thing you can do. The bonus is that this will give you more control over your acne!
