Subcision, on the other hand, is performed by introducing a small scalpel or small pair of scissors beneath the skin to release the underlying scar tissue from the layers of skin. This procedure produces bruising as fresh blood rushes in to occupy the space between the skin and scar tissue. Nevertheless, this is exactly what levels out the skin.
